Matthew Miller, the US State Department spokesperson, says that the United State’s “commitment to Israel’s security is sacrosanct”. Speaking at a press conference at the White House, Miller labelled Iran’s air attacks on Israel as “reckless escalatory acts”. “Such behaviour threatens to destabilise the region,” he said.
He added that Iran’s attack “violated the sovereignty of several states in the region”, but when asked by a reporter which states he was referring to, he declined to answer. Al Jazeera’s Alan Fisher has the latest from Washington, DC.
